make a latte without an espresso machine

I read about it online and am so excited that it actually works!

You just need your regular coffee ingredients. Milk, freshly ground coffee, flavored syrup and whipped cream.

Brew some really strong french press coffee.

Heat up a mug of milk in the microwave for 1 minute and then whip it. I used my blender because it's fast and easy but you could also use a whisk.

Pour the coffee into your mug so it's about 1/4 way full. Add some caramel syrup (or whatever flavor you have).

Pour your warm, whipped milk into the mug and top with whipped cream and a drizzle of carmel.

Delish.

animal silhouettes

My couch was in need of some fun pillows and I'm much to cheap to buy any. I found some scrap fabrics and created these guys!

Cut  two squares of fabric an inch larger than your pillow. My pillow form was about 13 inches, so I cut my squares 14 inches.

Draw or trace an animal silhouette onto a piece of paper.

Cut it out and trace it onto your contrasting fabric.

Cut out the the fabric animal and pin to one square of your pillow fabric.

Top stitch the animal onto your fabric very close to the edges. Work slowly and make sure that your fabric isn't tucking up anywhere and adjust the pins as needed while you sew.

Pin right sides of the squares together all the way around the edge, leaving one side mostly unpinned to leave an opening for your pillow form.

Starting about 2 inches from one corner, completely sew three sides together and all corners, but leaving one side mostly open. Trim the corners and turn the pillow case right side out. Stuff in your pillow form.

Hand stitch the opening closed.
